The Inference Report

March 21, 2026

The dominant pattern across today's trending repos is the shift from building individual AI models to building systems that orchestrate them. Claude HUD, Open-SWE, and Superpowers all solve the same core problem: developers need visibility and control over what autonomous agents are actually doing. Claude HUD adds instrumentation to show context usage and tool execution in real time. Open-SWE and Superpowers go further, offering frameworks that let you compose multiple agents into workflows that reliably complete coding tasks. This isn't about making a better model; it's about making agents predictable enough to trust in production. The fact that Superpowers has accumulated 102,000 stars suggests developers are past the novelty phase and actively building on these patterns.

A secondary trend cuts across domains: specialized data handling for AI pipelines. OpenDataLoader solves PDF parsing as a first-class problem for LLM ingestion rather than an afterthought. RedisVL and Hamilton both address the infrastructure layer, treating vector storage and dataflow definition as core concerns rather than bolt-ons. TradingAgents and TaxHacker show the same pattern applied to domain-specific problems, where the value isn't the LLM itself but the scaffolding that feeds it clean data and enforces output structure. Even the discovery repos like Zenoh and Nemo follow this logic: they're not about raw capability but about routing, scaling, and querying data at the right speed and scale. The repos gaining traction are those that make the boring parts of AI systems reliable enough that developers can stop thinking about them.
